In addition to making metal art I also use fractal burning on wood along with acrylic inks and paints to create art pieces. I will start out with a table that is no longer wanted. It may have stains, marks, broken legs, or whatever. I will strip and sand the table top. Next, I use a process called fractal burning to add burned, lightning like effects on the wood top. It is a very dangerous process but at the same time very amazing to watch. There is no control on how the burning takes place. The only control I have is generally where and how much. I will burn the table top while leaving intentional spaces. Next the table top will be cut into smaller pieces. I will then use the natural grain of the wood along with acrylic inks and stains to color the piece. Figures, flowers and so on are added using acrylic paint to complete the piece.
